Uga Requirements for Transfer Students
Once transferred students begin their journey at UGA, the Student Transitions Department of the Student Affairs Department helps them connect with other UGA students, engagement experiences, and academic resources through the Transfer Student Experience Success Pathway. When reviewing a file, the best indicator of academic success at UGA is the student`s calculated GPA and the number of courses completed. To calculate your grade point average, we use all the academic grades you have earned in transferable courses (including D, F, and WF) from each college you attended. When a course is repeated, we use both classes. In addition, we only verify the transfer job with specific course titles, course numbers, and credit hours. Given the data, there is a much better probability of acceptance as a transferee than as a first-year student. You are eligible for transfer admission to the undergraduate program on the UGA campus in Athens if you: Students who have applied to the University of Georgia as transfer students will hear about the school for summer and fall enrollment no later than early May, and spring applicants will receive a decision as early as July and September. Taking all these factors into account, UGA is still very competitive. More than one-third of the class of 2025 had a grade point average of 4.0 or higher, while 5% of these students were high school graduates or Salutatorians in their graduating class. About 88% of students graduate within six years, far more than in other comparable places. Ninety-two percent of graduates were employed or enrolled in graduate programs within six months of graduation. An eligible transfer applicant must be a high school graduate prior to the available application period.
A student applying for the fall semester must graduate from high school before the fall application begins on January 15 in order to apply for admission to the transfer. In addition, UGA attaches great importance to diversity and inclusion. They offer the GAAME Scholars program, which supports and mentors African American male students. In addition, the DeLTA project aims to promote diversity in STEM fields. In addition, you can learn more about the transfer process by visiting the Transfer Services Office. UGA prides itself on providing an engaging college experience that fosters a wide range of academic and social opportunities for its students. A transfer applicant is a student who has completed at least 30 semesters or 45 hours of quarterly credit. This includes students who have earned university credit through dual enrollment or exam credits (AP or IB). Students who graduated from high school within the last five years must meet both admission and first-year transfer requirements: The university says they have a place for everyone from traditional-age students to veterans to non-traditional students such as parents, international students and non-traditional groups. So what is the likelihood of a successful transfer to UGA? Through the Transfer Pathway program, students who have enrolled in an accredited college or university can apply for admission in the spring semester of their first year of study. If they have completed 30 hours of transferable credit by June 15 and meet the general GPA requirements for admission to transfer, they can transfer to UGA for the following fall semester. Students are automatically selected for this track and do not have to apply separately. Recognizing that the fundamentals of student success begin before enrollment, UGA offers transfer support services to students prior to their entry on campus. The Office of Transfer Services helps students enroll in courses that make an appropriate transition to a UGA major and understand the criteria for high-demand majors at the Grady College of Journalism of Mass Communication, Mary Frances Early College of Education, and Terry College of Business. In addition, schools and colleges, as well as the UGA Griffin and Tifton campuses, offer transfer manuals and designated counselors to assist transferred students.
Please note that high school academic results and SAT/ACT scores are not considered for transfer applicants and should not be submitted.
